Pinnacle Insurance Claim Process

Pinnacle Insurance Claim Process

Hailstorms can be a homeowner’s worst nightmare. The aftermath of such a storm often leaves behind extensive damage, ranging from roof dents to shattered windows. In times like these, it’s crucial to know how to navigate the hail damage insurance claim process effectively. This article will guide you through the steps you should take to ensure you receive a fair settlement for your hail-damaged property.

  1. Document the Damage

The first step in the process is to document the extent of the damage to your home. Safety should always be your top priority, so wait until it’s safe to do so. Take extensive photographs of the damage from the ground, and if possible, measure or estimate the size of the hail (but never go up on the roof). Review your insurance policy to understand what’s covered and what questions to ask. It’s essential not to begin any repairs at this stage. If necessary, cover the damage with a tarp to protect your home while the claim is processed.

  1. File a Claim

Contact your insurance provider promptly to File a Claim. An agent will discuss what’s covered under your current policy and guide you through the next steps, which usually involve scheduling a meeting with an insurance adjuster. You may be asked to submit photos or videos as evidence of the damage.

  1. Collect Repair Estimates

In addition to contacting your insurance provider, reach out to several local home repair contractors to obtain independent estimates for the cost of repairing your home. Have these contractors inspect your roof, windows, screens, fences, and air conditioning units. It’s wise to gather at least one quote before your insurance meeting, but it’s recommended to obtain three quotes from different contractors. Timeliness is crucial, especially if your area was heavily affected by the hailstorm, as contractors may be overwhelmed with similar requests. At this stage, do not sign any contracts. If possible, arrange to have a trusted contractor attend your scheduled insurance adjuster meeting to ensure a fair assessment of the damage and repair costs.

  1. Meet With Your Insurance Adjuster

Your insurer will send an insurance adjuster to assess the damage and determine the total cost of repairs. During this meeting, share your notes, photographs, and estimates from local contractors with the adjuster. The adjuster will create a report incorporating these details, which will be submitted to your insurance company for claim processing. If the initial offer from the adjuster doesn’t cover the entire scope of work estimated by your contractor, don’t hesitate to contact the adjuster and attempt to reach an agreement. If necessary, have your contractor communicate directly with the adjuster. If no agreement is reached, you have the right to hire an independent adjuster or seek legal action, but these options should be reserved for more substantial claims.

  1. Receive a Payout

Once your insurance provider approves your claim and settles the repair costs, you’ll receive a payout (minus your deductible). The claims payment process can vary, so consult your policy or speak to your insurance agent to understand what to expect. You might receive an initial advance payment with the rest to be paid upon completion of repairs. If you have a mortgage, you may need to work with your mortgage company to release the funds. In some cases, you may be asked to sign a form allowing your insurance company to pay your contractor directly. Be sure to read the terms carefully. For extensive damage, you may receive multiple checks for both home and personal property damage, along with living expenses if you must temporarily leave your home.

  1. Hire a Contractor

While your insurer may recommend a contractor, the final decision on who completes the work is yours. Choose a contractor you trust to perform the repairs to your satisfaction. Ensure that the contractor is fully licensed, as working with an unlicensed contractor could affect your claim payment.

Is It Worth Filing a Claim?

Deciding whether to file a hail damage insurance claim can be a tough call. Consider factors such as the insurance payout versus your deductible and the potential impact on your homeowner’s insurance premium. Generally, hail damage claims are considered “no-fault,” but multiple claims within a short period might lead to premium increases in some cases. Familiarize yourself with your local laws and consult your insurance provider for guidance on whether it makes financial sense to file a claim or pay for repairs out of pocket.

Conclusion

Navigating the hail damage insurance claim process can be challenging, but with the right steps and information, you can ensure that your home is properly repaired and your financial interests protected. Remember that safety, documentation, and communication with your insurer and contractors are key to a successful claim experience.

Had an excellent experience with Pinnacle. I have been working with them for years on various projects, but they just completed a screened in patio for my personal home and I couldn't be happier. On time, clean, clear communication, and the project was done on schedule with no changes. Thrilled beyond belief and will be using them again and again!
Response from the owner:It is such a pleasure to hear from a long time valued partner, and thank you for trusting us with your personal home as well! Our team loves what we do and takes pride in giving our customers exactly what they want. We are thankful you had a wonderful experience.
We recently worked with Pinnacle Windows after the film on our existing windows failed due to the high elevation we live at, leaving them looking cloudy and worn. We ended up replacing 9 windows with three large picture windows, and the difference is incredible.

The team was fantastic to work with—professional, efficient, and detail-oriented. They also replaced our doors and kitchen windows, removing all the grids and upgrading everything to a clean, open look that lets in so much more natural light.

Kenny and the team met with us multiple times and insured we had everything we wanted and more. The finished result truly transformed our space. Everything looks brighter, more modern, and just overall amazing. We’re very happy with the quality of work and would absolutely recommend Pinnacle Windows.
Response from the owner:We are thrilled that your new picture windows and custom door replacements have modernized your space and maximized your natural light. Our team, led by experts like Kenny, is dedicated to detailed, professional restoration and ensuring our customers get exactly what they need—and more. I worked primarily with Jacob. He has been over the top in making sure everything is right and going the extra mile. Everyone that I encountered has been super helpful and friendly. The window looks and works great!

Jacob and Team came and looked at a window that no-one else would look at. Angel and Dave installed it and it looks beautiful! So Appreciative. Thanks team!!
Response from the owner:Thank you for your kind review. Our team is passionate about what they do, and times like this shows that. I am glad we could get you taken care of!
We have worked with Pinnacle a ton and have also worked with several other window companies over the years, but Pinnacle has been the best! Nick Battaglia and Chris Trojan specifically have been great!!

Working with Pinnacle Windows has been a really easy, stress free experience and their work and personnel are exceptional. We had our first experience with hail damage last year and a friend recommended Pinnacle Windows. Kaleb came out and inspected our windows and explained the whole process to us. They worked directly with our insurance, sending them (and us) the estimate. They came out and got the work done in one day and even coordinated with other professionals that needed to come in and do other repairs. Everything looks great! We will definitely be using Pinnacle Windows again.
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for sharing your detailed experience with us. We are truly grateful for your kind words and for trusting us with your home after the storm. We know that navigating repairs can be overwhelming, so we are thrilled to hear that you found the process to be a stress-free window replacement experience. Excellent job by Pinnacle Windows. Our condo had a very leaky window that leaked very specifically during rain storms.

When Pinnacle came to assess the old window, they saw that it was incorrectly installed in the first place, and was too small, hence the leaking. Unfortunately this was past the statute of limitations for getting money for the correction, but that was not Pinnacle’s fault. I appreciated knowing what the issue was, though.

The replacement fits beautifully, and does not leak. It only took about 4 hours to do the entire deinstall and reinstall. The men who did it were kind and efficient. Great job! Thank you!
Response from the owner:Thank you for sharing your experience with Pinnacle Windows! We're so glad we could help resolve the issue with your leaky window. Identifying the original installation problem and providing a properly fitted window replacement is exactly the kind of care and expertise we strive for. It's great to hear the new window fits beautifully and is leak-free! Our team takes pride in efficient, high-quality work, and we're thrilled you were happy with the results.
